My husband Gordon sent out this message to his colleagues, friends, and family this week. I thought I'd share it with you.
This is to wish you an immense Christmas and festive season and a big thank you to all those with whom I have shared a glass over the past year.
I feel a revolution coming on. We have got too much, we are fat and over indulged, there is a growing and dangerous sea of poverty swelling to an unsupportable dimension.
Governments will do nothing about it other than lick the parts of their major corporate donors.
Business will mostly add to the problem with the great drive to cut costs, of course they go to where the argument is most easily won, the producers and we are complicit. We don't ask enough questions.
I, for one, am not going to sit back in this coming year and see this mealy-mouthed gang ruin our whole world by continuing to put profit at all costs before people and their desperate needs.
Support Greenpeace and Amnesty in their important work, subscribe to the Ecologist to keep well informed.
Do not buy soya coming from Brazil or anything from, or supplied by Cargill. They are cutting the worlds biggest natural resource, the Amazon, for greed and personal gain.
I feel a battle approaching so please feel free to join in and let me know what you propose to do next year. Remember that by doing nothing you are letting the bastards get away with it.
